Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report
Paramount Skydance plans to initiate significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 American roles as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August worth $8.4bn.
Additional overseas workforce reductions are expected, as the firm intending to announce full details via its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Previous updates had indicated the firm planned to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the organization employed almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
